During Amsterdam Dance Event, we hosted an inspiring event to talk about hip hop’s role as a powerful cultural movement.
Martin van Engel from the Netherlands Commission for Unesco joined us for a deep dive into the On(ver)vangbaar report, exploring hip hop’s significant social and economic impact. Martin called for increased recognition, resources, and representation for The Culture within influential roles in the cultural sector.
The conversation continued with our panel featuring Imani Goncalves (FunX), Dave Vanderheijden (Hiphop In Je Smoel) and Myrto Semmoh (SMIB Worldwide). Together, they highlighted the importance of creating supportive platforms for emerging talent, amplifying diverse voices, and fostering societal change.
Huge thanks to our incredible guests, both on- and offstage, for being part of this impactful conversation. And a special shoutout to Armin Shah (Convo) for expertly hosting the event.
